What Is Ready for First Grade?

Ready for First Grade is a small-group summer learning program for students entering first grade who benefit from continued practice, routine, and confidence-building over the summer months.

This program supports academic growth while reinforcing the independence and social skills needed for a successful first-grade year.

 

What We’ll Work On

Activities are tailored to first-grade readiness and may include:

  • Reading readiness and phonics practice
  • Building reading stamina and confidence
  • Writing practice and fine-motor development
  • Math skills such as number sense and problem-solving
  • Listening, focus, and classroom routines
  • Confidence and independence in learning

Program Details

  • Session Dates: July 13–August 7, 2026
  • Time: 9:30–10:30 am
  • Schedule: Groups meet twice a week for 4 weeks
  • Session Length: 1 hour each session
  • Location: Tiny Play CafĂ©
  • Required: Parent/Guardian MUST stay on site with child  

PRICING

$400 for 4 Weeks

Registration includes 2 sessions per week, for 4 weeks at $50/session.

Hi, I'm Molly 👋

I’m a certified teacher heading into my 13th year in education, with experience teaching kindergarten, first grade, and fifth grade. I have a Master of Art in Teaching and a Master of Education in School Counseling.

Having taught both early elementary and upper grades, I know exactly which foundational skills make the biggest difference as students move into a new school year. My goal is to help children feel confident, capable, and excited about learning especially during important transitions like kindergarten and first grade.

I believe learning should feel safe, encouraging, and fun and Tiny Play Cafe is the perfect place for that to happen.
